How to Increase Instagram Followers

It’s not the first time that we focused our How-To Tuesdays posts on Instagram. Students, parents, agents and education providers, alike use this channel either for business or leisure, so they’re bound to look for you there too. Make sure you’re found and more importantly, have an interesting profile. If you’re not sure how to do this, here are some tips:

Check the Trends

Trends are the norm on social media and you should keep up with them as much as possible, especially in international education. It’s a well-known fact that Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms out there, making it a go-to channel to follow trends. Aspects like Reels and short videos are proof of how social media can show us where content is going.

Find Partners

Whether it’s industry-specific influencers or third-party companies, partners who target niche audiences can help disseminate your content on social media. For example, if you tend to focus your marketing on students or parents, your following may be dominated by this audience. Not to worry, platforms like Schools & Agents, can then help you reach an audience that is mostly dominated by agents.

Use Tags

From tagging people and businesses to using hashtags, these are ways in which you can reach new audiences and make people notice you more. Of course, make sure that you only go for relevant tags, otherwise, your content will start becoming unreliable in people’s eyes.

Be Engaging

Engagement! We’re sure this is not the first time you’ve heard this word when talking about social media. It’s ultimately what we all want. Apart from sharing your content and liking that of others, make sure you draw more attention by commenting where it’s appropriate to do so. Also, make sure that when your followers comment on your content you reply asap.

To sum all this up, make sure you prepare a strategy and a content calendar before you start posting. From there, you can go ahead and have fun with your content. Remember, that whilst we would all like to post tons of posts on a weekly basis, this is normally not possible. Focus on quality content and consistency, and with a little bit of patience you’ll see the difference.
